DJI May Have Their Drones Removed From US Market

DJI vs Autel

DJI is often called the “Apple” of the drone world. They do make good quadcopters. I try to avoid buying items made in China (not easy and I am nowhere near 100%… not even close, yet) for many reasons. Too many reasons to list here. With that said, I do have a DJI Mavic Mini and it is a great little product. However, it appears they have stepped on a technology patent owned by Autel Robotics USA. A US ITC judge has ruled in favor of Autel and even recommended that DJI drones shouldn’t be sold or imported to the US. That is big.

This currently includes some of DJI’s drones like the Mavic Pro, Mavic Pro Platinum, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic Air, and Spark. Autel is also petitioning to stop the sales of the Phantom and Inspire as well.

Time will tell how this plays out, and we should know more soon as there is currently an active 60-day review process.
